At every turn, lead my son to meet You again and again. Please show him what You’ve done in the past, what You’re doing in the present, and what You promise to do in the future. I ask that You speak into this life as only You can-reminding him of who You are. Please, Lord, hear our prayer today-a prayer for my son's hearts, minds, and souls. Of all the things I want my son to hold fast to, it’s faith in Your Son Jesus that we long for most. Lord God, I come before You on behalf of my son, praying not only for his physical safety and well being, but for his spiritual walk with You. It is in His name that I pray these things. Most of all, I pray that he will respond to Your call and be lead to repentance and salvation through Your Son. I pray that he will hear you loud and clear, above the noise of the world. I pray that You will open my son’s ears to hear the sound of Your still, small voice calling them-drawing them to Yourself. Thank You for loving them with an everlasting love. Lord God, Thank You so much for never giving up on my son. Particularly for those struggling with a sinful stronghold, an addiction, or a temptation harassing them. Soften the hearts of our children, Father. We are reminded, Father, that You are their Creator! You love them more than we ever could! You know them better than we do. We not only want Your peace in our own hearts, but for our children, too! Soften their hearts to understand who You are and Whose they are, in a way only You can, no matter their age. And Your peace, which transcends all understanding, will guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus ( Philippians 4:6-7). You tell us not to be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, to present our requests to You. As You draw him to You, let the truth of Jesus Christ and their salvation take root in his souls, Father. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we pray for softened hearts for him. We come to You today to intercede for our son in prayer. Make the way out clear when temptation comes, make resisting the devil seem natural and make serving you the desire of their hearts. Don’t let them care what the devil thinks of them, give them only concern for pleasing you with how they live their lives. Give them a deep love for you so that they will strive to glorify you first not themselves or those around them. Give them confidence to stand firm in their faith and to deny that which denies you. Lord, give our sons the strength to resist the devil. You search their hearts and you know them. Lord, while we can’t be with our children every second of the day, we find comfort in knowing that you are! You are with them, you see them, you hear them, you know the deepest thoughts, struggles, desires, fears, and anxieties that they have. They are faced with opportunities to deny you and to follow the devil. Lord, our sons are faced with temptations everyday. A Prayer Against Temptationįather, Your Word says to resist the devil and he will flee. May my son be a light in dark places rather than the darkness snuffing out the light in him! Amen. Plant your Word deep in his heart so that he may recognize your truth and are able to stand strong when your Word is being distorted. Give him a desire to glorify you in his relationships and to not give in to the peer pressures of those who don’t know you. Let his inner circle be made up of godly influencers that will point him to you. Give him wisdom when choosing his close friends and confidants. Your Word tells us that bad company corrupts good character. The enemy would love nothing more than for our sons to turn their backs on you completely and to follow in the ways of the world. Lord, while you would desire our children to surround themselves with people of faith, the enemy would like to surround them with people who hate you. Show him instead the community and belonging he can have among your people and the joy that comes from following you instead of the world. Show him the trappings of this world are just that, traps. Remind my son that he was made by your hand and in your image, which gives him immeasurable worth! Give us wisdom as parents to speak this truth with love.įill his heart with an overwhelming love for you so that you are the only one he wants to please. Your word says that you made us in your image. God, give my son a deep understanding that his self-worth is found in You and you alone. Guard his hearts against any ungodly character. Shield him from accidents, disease, and other forms of harm. Be my son's Guardian in the hours that I am not with him. Allow no physical harm to touch his body. Let no accidents fall on him while he's away from home. Let no bad influence corrupt his precious minds. Keep him away from the evils of this world. As he goes to school, and he comes back home, be his shield and his fortress. Protect my son, Father God, each and every day.
